Camp and chems: the loop behind every duel

Two objects explain most of Apocalypse Hunters: the camp that produces your resources and the chems you collect while walking. Everything else in the game is built on top of that pair.

The camp

The camp is placed near your home and upgraded over time. It is the only structure that turns time into resources, which makes it the first thing worth improving and the last thing worth neglecting. A player who ignores the camp can still win duels, but he will do it with the same deck for weeks.

Chems

Chems come from the neighbourhood. The studio's own description is direct: walk to the nearest store to collect them instead of waiting. That sentence describes the whole design: the game wants you to move, and it pays you for the movement in a resource that upgrades decks and weapons in both of the studio's titles.

The loop in one paragraph

  • Walk, collect chems and beasts.
  • Return to the camp, upgrade what the deck needs.
  • Duel, learn what failed, then spend again.

Common mistake

Spending chems the moment they arrive. Chems are worth more when you know which card is weak; without a duel behind you the upgrade is a guess. Collect first, fight once, then upgrade what actually lost the match.
